Our Redeemer Lutheran Church (LCMS) is a loving, vigorous, and growing congregation in Clinton, Mississippi. Although we are the original LCMS congregation in the Jackson area, our vision is toward the future: Our Children, Our Ministry, and Our Outreach. Our goal is to embrace all people in our hearts and fellowship as we strive together to support Christ's mission on earth.

Christ, our Lord died for us, and...

He has Risen! Alleluia!

We would like to welcome you to Our Redeemer.
Come Visit With Us.

If you are looking for a church home, we welcome you to join our familv here! We believe you will find us to be a loving, caring, and friendly congregation! Here at Our Redeemer we believe you are special and very important! Most of all, Jesus knows that! That is why He died on the cross; for you, for me, and for the whole world! That is why He rose from the grave; for you, for me, and for the whole world.

Our Church Home:

For several years now, our church home has been at our new location here in Clinton. We praise Our Lord for Calling us here, Leading us every step of the way, and Providing for every need that arose during our journey in spite of our doubts and fears! For finished photos and memories of the process as our God led us, visit our New Home page on this site. It includes memories of the Dedication, our 75th Anniversary Celebration at the same time, and mementoes of our beloved former homes on Shady Lane where we began the Journey and our original home on Broad Street, where it all started, both of which are in Jackson, where we began our ministry. Just click on the link or the picture to visit it.

Our God is an Awesome God!

Who Are We?

We get our name from Martin Luther, a German priest who broke from the Roman Catholic Church in the early 1500's. Luther's strong stand for Jesus Christ alone as necessary for salvation, and for the Bible as the source of real truth, helped to ignite the Protestant Reformation.

Luther's study of the Bible helped him show others that our Lord is a loving and forgiving God. He helped others see that hope. forgiveness, and eternal life are free gifts offered to us in Jesus Christ. These gifts are for you, as well!

Upcoming Events and News at Our Redeemer:

The latest news has been separated from Upcoming Events (the Calendar) so you can check it quickly without having to scoll through the news first. We hope this is more convenient than listing them together.

(... But What's Been Happening Lately?)

You will be taken to the new Thumbnail page showing all the photos in the Album. Click in the one you want to start with. It opens in a Lightbox and you can see the photos in a slideshow by clicking the Play button in the white border below the image. It will change to a Stop button that you can click to stop.

Try it out!

Check out our new revised album with bigger Photos Now!

Please Note:

Our new album version is designed to take advantage of new capabilities in the newer browsers of today and doesn't work with some older browsers. The previous album was designed in the waning years of the past century and has served our needs valiantly in the intervening years. Rather than toss it on the trash heap, we felt a genteel semi-retirement serving those with legacy browsers who needed it was admirable and have been using it exactly as always on the old style page since our last site makeover. Recently technical difficuties rendered it inoperable and we have replaced it with a new legacy album designed to work with the same machines and browsers, but very similar to the new one.

Hey! You wanna know what exciting stuff our youth are up to?

True, they're really hard to keep up with. I gave up long ago.

But we have a very talented and active young youth leader who has fixed that problem. She has created a fun and informative site with details on all current youth activities, and slide shows on current and recent activities as well. The music is AWESOME and the joy is contagious. Check it out!

Just click on the group picture of our youth, or Here.

Exciting New Photo Gallery!

For major events we often have too many pictures to include in the Photo Album. We have a page where you can browse all the pictures for selected events, sometimes in the hundreds, to get a better overall view of the event. The photos are larger than those in the Photo Album with no titles or captions, just as they came from the camera. Give it a try.

A great poet once said "No man is an island entire of itself..." and this is especially true of Christians. We must meet together to reinforce and encourage one another and nourish our growth in Jesus Christ so that we will be better equipped to reach out to those in our world who need us. These links offer one way to join hands with other Christian sites for information, re-inforcement and resources:

Visit Other Lutheran Church Sites:

We are never alone. Christ is always with us. Sometimes it helps though, to visit other bowers in God's garden to reach out and gain strength from fellow laborers in His work. Other Lutheran church sites are just such places helping us to gain ideas, inspiration, and above all the certainty that we do not labor alone. Immediately below are links to three different Lutheran webrings, to which we belong, each with different sites, including ours. Visit them please, then return refreshed.

Below them are links to two different lists of Lutheran websites, searchable by state, and in the case of Lutherans Online, also by synod affiliation.
