When you are in the Clinton area...

Come Visit Our New Home!

On May 23, 2004 the Voters of Our Redeemer overwhelmingly approved construction of our new church building at 1799 Clinton - Raymond Road in Clinton, a beautiful historical, progressive, and growing suburban town about 5 miles west of our then Jackson location. They decided, as well, to remain in that building until the new facilities were finished to maintain and increase the quality of our ministries and programs in the interim. Please note, the key word here is facilities. We were going to build a new home for our church, not a new Church! With the help of our God, and following His call, we were:

...and we came forth to build new facilities where our family can grow ever closer and more vibrant, always expanding our ministries, outreach, and programs to bring more friends into our Family, so that it too, will grow.

This page let us follow the progress of our new expanded facilities day by day as our new home passed through the stages of construction, becoming much more than a dream ..., A Reality! All information we had was posted to this page including news and photos. The renderings, plans, and maps that were already here remain. New photos, drawings, and information were added as they become available.

Floor Plan: More room for our Worship and Ministries; and Room To Grow!

Combined Dedication of Our New Home and Celebration of our 75th Anniversary!

On Sunday, November 13th at 4:00 PM a large crowd joined us to dedicate this building to our Lord and celebrate our anniversary as a congregation. The following photos recall our journey as God's children, whom He Called to Go over a decade before we actually started the process to follow an idea He planted in our hearts, providing the trust and resources our halting efforts required, and sending His Son and Holy Spirit to lead our hesitant steps. We praise Him with Joy and Thanksgiving for His leading in this and the bountiful blessings He has showered on us.

The first image recalls the theme of this event and reminds us of its mementoes, the Invitations, the History Book, and the bulletin for the service. After these Dedication photos no further photos are expected to be added to this page until God again calls us to some new task He has set for us!. Praise Him!

Building Committee Report

On Sunday, November 13, 2005 at 4:00 PM, a service was held at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, 1745 Clinton/Raymond Road, Clinton, MS to celebrate our "Congregation's 75th Anniversary" and to "Dedicate our New Church Building and Fixtures." Attendance was very good with many former members attending, local and out of town friends and our own members. Judging by the empty seats among the 244 chairs, there was close to 200 in attendance. After the service a reception was held in the Fellowship Hall and enjoyed by the large group. Rain had been forecast but only a light shower fell. If you remember, we did have rain at the ground breaking ceremony which was on Saturday, August 21, 2004.

Many members of Our Redeemer worked on gathering information for "The History of Our Redeemer." Names of 42 are listed in the booklet they prepared, "Our Redeemer: Remembering 75 Years of Grace to Celebrate Our Future." Our 50th year celebration information, celebrated in 1980, was updated for the past 25 years. Many changes have taken place since 1980. In May of 1983, a new Educational Wing was dedicated as an addition to Our Redeemer on Shady Lane Drive. Some other changes were Pastor Orval Mueller left in 1988 to become President of the Southern District in New Orleans, Pastor Alan Korinek served from February 1989 to August 1996, Pastor Lane Reuter served from February 1998 to May 2000 and Pastor Steve Koenig is serving since May 2001. Our D.C.E., Cindy Namanny, was added to our church staff part-time in 1998. Cindy was installed September 13, 1998. She was just the person we needed to work with our youth. She does a fantastic job and has started many programs for the youth.

At a Voter's meeting on October 10, 1999, the congregation voted to move to Clinton. A Relocation Committee was formed. The committee located 6 acres at the corner of Clinton/Raymond Road and Midway Road in Clinton. The land was purchased for $96,000. The loan was through the Southern District in New Orleans. Now that land was purchased, a Building Committee was formed to start planning for the new church building. The first item was that Our Redeemer needed a fund raiser campaign. In December 2001 the committee hired Kairos, the last of 4 fund-raising firms interviewed, to work in partnership with Our Redeemer during our capital fund appeal. The goal of $365,000 over a 3-year period was met. The amount pledged was $365,000. As you know, the theme of the fund raiser campaign is "CALL TO GO! Jesus is Leading". Our construction loan through the Southern District is $900,000. This amount will be reduced after the property on Shady Lane is sold. Until then, payments will be about $4,884 per month as proposed in the 2006 budget. Please refer to your "Stewardship 2006" booklet for information on the 2006 budget.
